Shewekar El Gharably
Shewekar is a co-founder of Zimmer showroom and head designer at Shewekar El Gharably Design Studio. She obtained a B.A. in Business from the American University in Cairo in 1997 as well as a B.A. in Interior Design from Miami International University of Art and Design in 2001. Returning to Egypt after graduation, Shewekar noticed a lack in the market and was inspired to bring contemporary and transitional designs to the Egyptian market.
Hend El Kahhal
Hend studied Economics at the American University in Cairo. Following a career in banking and time spent at her family’s business, El Kahhal Carpets, Hend co-founded zimmer with Shewekar in 2005. Noticing the large gap in the furnishing market for high-end, contemporary rugs, Hend wanted to bring the best quality rugs to the discerning customer in Egypt. Hend brings her considerable corporate experience to zimmer and focuses on the business development of the rug division as well as the finance side of the company.
Mohamed El Kahhal
With a B.A. degree in Finance and Marketing from Northeastern University in Boston, USA, Mohamed is responsible for rugs manufacturing and development at zimmer. Following graduation, Mohamed joined the family carpet manufacturing business in Cairo. Mohamed gained considerable experience across the different departments of El Kahhal Carpets operations, including manufacturing, logistics and sales. In zimmer’s early days, Mohamed collaborated with his sister, Hend, to produce the new company’s rug line.
Yasmine El Gharably
Yasmine has a B.A. in Business Administration from the American University in Cairo and an MSc. in Analysis, Design and Management of Information Systems from London School of Economics. Yasmine spent her early career working as a brand manager at Unilever and later as an associate consultant at Bain and Company in Dubai. After being a silent partner since zimmer opened in 2005, Yasmine joined zimmer full-time in 2008.
